MEET RENNY DOYLE- CD-SV, RIT

High-Flying Beginnings in Professional Detailing & Business Ownership

Renny Doyle is one of the most well-known names in the world of automotive and aircraft detailing. He has over three decades of experience in the industry and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers and leading authorities in automotive detailing.

Renny was born and raised in Colton, CA. He began detailing cars and planes in his teenage years, which led him to enter the automotive and residential window tint business in the 80s & 90s. As a teenager, Renny met Art Scholl, a famous stunt pilot who died during the filming of Top Gun, which gave him a love for aviation and led him to detailing more than just cars. Renny sold his first detailing business when he was 19 years old and went on to Boise State University to play football and get his education.

Once he graduated, Renny worked in the corporate world, but not for long. A calling to detail cars, aircraft, and other vehicles was burning strong in his soul. Eventually, Renny could not avoid his undeniable passion for the auto detailing any longer, and he found himself back in the industry, but with a newfound perspective built on both providing detailing excellence and teaching it as well.

From Cars to Aircraft, Renny’s Journey to Detailer Training is Dynamic

Owning shops in Southern California and later Idaho, Renny Doyle met his wife and partner Diane in the mid-1990s. Finally, in 1997, Renny and Diane teamed up to found Attention to Detail in Sun Valley, Idaho, which promptly grew to include multiple locations in areas like Boise, San Bernardino, and Dallas. While Renny and Diane resided in Sun Valley, they focused on perfecting their auto detailing techniques, processes, and business acumen while maintaining the prestigious cars and planes owned by celebrities and executives in their area.

Detailing then led Renny and Diane over to Boise, Idaho, where they focused on running their detail operation. It was this move that finally allowed them the opportunity to open Detailing Success in 2004 - A comprehensive auto detailing training program that began educating detailers from all around the world. Renny has always viewed this shift in his detailing journey as a way to create opportunity for auto detailers to be the entrepreneurs they HAVE to be to run a successful business.

Around the time Detailing Success was founded, Renny was contacted by Boeing and the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington with the task to restore the first jet-powered Air Force One-SAM 970. This is the EXACT aircraft that served the United States Presidents that held office from John F. Kennedy to Bill Clinton, along with many other notable dignitaries. This one project changed his business and, in many ways, the detailing industry in profound ways to this day.

Renny has been detailing Air Force One for over 20 years now, and has had the opportunity to meet the President of the United States and, by official decree, hold the title of “The Detailer of Air Force One”. But between Air Force One, Detailing Success, and the many other projects he has been part of, the biggest success story along the way has been Renny using all of these career events to build up other detailers and their businesses to bring the industry together.

Training Detailers to Transform the Industry - Detailing Success

Renny and Diane chose to move the Detailing Success operations to a place closer to Renny’s childhood home in Big Bear, California. This is currently where Renny and Diane run their Detailing Success training center in a 5000 square foot facility.

Renny has been a long time advocate for detailing industry innovation. He himself is a leading proponent of the forced-action DA movement, has supported the introduction of steam cleaning as a mainstream detailing tool, and is a huge believer in the International Detailing Association (IDA). With Detailing Success, students get the opportunity to receive their CD and SV certifications, taking the test at the conclusion of training.
