A Presidential Detailing Project at Detailing Success

THE OFFICIAL AIR FORCE ONE DETAILING TEAM

A History Lesson on How We Came to Detail Air Force One

Beginning as a prestigious aircraft that flew president John F. Kennedy around and continuously serving presidents and international dignitaries all the way through finishing its tenure in serving president Bill Clinton, the FIRST jet-powered Air Force One-SAM (Special Air Missions) 970 found permanent residence at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington. Around 2003, Renny Doyle was hired to bring a small team of detailers to the Seattle-based museum in order to restore and detail this historic piece of American history.

What began as a call from a Bush administration official asking him to bring a small team to Seattle’s Museum of flight to clean and restore the deteriorating paint and aluminum finish on the historical jet has quickly become a cornerstone to the impressive power of training with Renny Doyle at Detailing Success. After a couple years, Renny decided to open the project up to experienced detailers who had completed his Advanced 5-Day Training program at Detailing Success. Detailing Air Force One is now an annual event AND has opened the door for the project and expanded to include detailing a WWII B-29 Superfortress, the iconic Concord and other historic aircraft.

Renny sees the opportunity to give budding and experienced detailers around the world the chance to be part of a team that works to preserve Air Force One as a way to give back to this great country, preserve history, and can earn to work on detailing one of the most impressive aircraft around. No, working with the Air Force One Detailing Team is a VOLUNTEER project, including Renny Doyle himself.
